GIMP 2: How to combine two (or more) photos

If you can copy and paste, then it’s very easy. In this article, I’ll show you how. For simplicity, I will combine only 2 pictures.
Here is the step-by-step method:
1. Open the first photo (File - Open)

2. resize the canvas, big enough for the second photo (Image - Canvas Size). In this case, I will put the second photo next to the first.

3. Open the second photo (just like step 1).

4. Copy this photo (Edit - Copy or highlight the photo and Ctrl-C).
5. Go to the first photo and then paste it as new layer (Edit - Paste as - New Layer). With the move tool, you can move and put the second photo anywhere you like (for example, next to the first photo, where the extra space is on the canvas).
